U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Tennessee officials to aggressively pursue changes to the state’s congressional map, arguing that the move could strengthen Republican control ahead of upcoming elections.
In a statement shared on Thursday, Trump revealed details of a conversation with Bill Lee, expressing confidence that action would be taken.
“I had a very good conversation with Governor Bill Lee… wherein he stated that he would work hard to correct the unconstitutional flaw in the Congressional Maps of the Great State of Tennessee,” Trump said.
The former president went further, highlighting the potential political impact of such a move.
“This should give us one extra seat, and help Save our Country from the Radical Left Democrats, and their Country destroying Policies…” he added.
Trump also praised other political figures in the state, noting that they had pledged support for the effort. He ended his message with a direct call to action: “Thank you Governor Lee — PUSH HARD!”
